Agricultural Gearbox Product Families
Five specialized gearbox families covering every major driven implement on modern farms. Click any product line for full specifications, dimensions, and cross-reference data.

Zapfwellengetriebe
PTO gearboxes connect a tractor’s power take-off shaft to driven implements, transferring engine power while adapting speed and direction. Our range covers right-angle PTO gearboxes, inline speed increasers/reducers, multi-speed PTO drives, and heavy-duty 1000 RPM gearboxes for high-power implements. Available for Category 1, 2, and 3 three-point hitch systems. Engineered for 540 RPM and 1000 RPM PTO speeds with standard 6-spline, 21-spline, and 20-spline input interfaces.

Rotationsschneidgetriebe
Rotary cutter gearboxes (also known as bush hog gearboxes or slasher gearboxes) transmit PTO power to horizontal cutting blades through a 90° right-angle bevel gear set. They must absorb severe shock loads from blade strikes on rocks, stumps, and dense brush. Our rotary cutter gearboxes feature forged steel bevel gears, heavy-duty tapered roller bearings, premium-grade cast iron housings, and shear-bolt or slip-clutch overload protection interfaces. Direct interchange available for major brands.

Getriebe für Bodenfräse
Rotary tiller gearboxes (rototiller gearboxes) power the horizontal tine shaft that breaks, aerates, and cultivates soil. They receive PTO power at the main bevel gearbox and distribute it via a chain or gear side-drive to the full tine width. The gearbox endures high vibration, continuous heavy soil resistance, and abrasive contamination throughout the working season. Our tiller gearboxes use heat-treated alloy steel bevel gears, sealed deep-groove ball bearings, and cast iron housings with reinforced rib structures. Available for tillers from 1.0m to 3.0m working width.

Mähwerksgetriebe
Mower gearboxes serve disc mowers, drum mowers, sickle bar mowers, and flail mowers used in hay production, pasture management, and road/verge maintenance. Unlike rotary cutter gearboxes, mower gearboxes must deliver smooth, high-speed output to cutting discs or drums with minimal vibration — critical for clean, quality forage cuts. Our mower gearboxes are engineered for 1000 RPM PTO inputs (high-speed precision cutting) and incorporate specially profiled bevel gears, precision angular contact bearings, and agricultural-grade oil seals to prevent contamination from crop debris.

Düngerstreuer-Getriebe
Fertilizer spreader gearboxes drive the spinning disc(s) or agitator mechanisms in broadcast spreaders and precision seeders. These gearboxes must resist highly corrosive fertilizer dust and granules while maintaining precise, consistent output speed for uniform spreading patterns. Our range covers single and double disc spreaders, combined fertilizer/seeder units, and precision metering gearboxes. All fertilizer-contact models use corrosion-resistant coatings or stainless steel shafts with specialized IP65-rated sealing.

About Agricultural Gearboxes
An agricultural gearbox is a sealed mechanical transmission unit purpose-built for the harsh operating environment of farm implements. Unlike industrial gearboxes used in factory settings, agricultural gearboxes must withstand significant shock loading from blade strikes, rock impacts, and sudden speed changes; continuous exposure to dust, soil, crop debris, fertilizer chemicals, and moisture; seasonal storage periods with risk of internal corrosion; and wide ambient temperature swings across operating seasons.
The most common driver for agricultural gearboxes is the tractor’s Power Take-Off (PTO) shaft — a standardized rotating shaft that projects from the rear of the tractor and spins at either 540 RPM or 1000 RPM depending on the tractor’s selected mode. The agricultural gearbox takes this input speed and transforms it to the torque, speed, and direction of rotation required by each specific implement — whether that means a slow, high-torque output for a rotary tiller, a high-speed low-torque output for precision mower discs, or a right-angle 90° output for bush hog cutting blades.
“Agricultural gearboxes are selected first by implement type, then by PTO speed (540 or 1000 RPM), then by required output torque. Shock load rating and corrosion resistance are equally critical selection criteria — a gearbox correctly sized for torque but under-rated for shock will fail prematurely in field use.”

Häufig gestellte Fragen
What is an agricultural gearbox and what does it do?
An agricultural gearbox is a mechanical power transmission device designed specifically for farm machinery. It transfers and converts torque and speed from a tractor’s PTO (Power Take-Off) shaft or engine to implements such as rotary tillers, mowers, rotary cutters, and fertilizer spreaders. Agricultural gearboxes are built to handle heavy shock loads, dusty outdoor environments, and wide temperature swings. They differ from standard industrial gearboxes primarily in their shock-load ratings, sealing systems, and corrosion resistance requirements.
What is the difference between a rotary cutter gearbox and a rotary tiller gearbox?
A rotary cutter gearbox (also called a bush hog gearbox or slasher gearbox) drives horizontal cutting blades to cut dense vegetation, brush, and light saplings. It typically uses right-angle spiral bevel gears and is engineered for very high shock torque from blade strikes on solid objects. A rotary tiller gearbox (rototiller gearbox) drives vertical tines that break and cultivate soil — it uses a combination of bevel and spur/chain gears and must handle sustained high vibration and abrasive conditions from continuous soil contact rather than sudden impact loads.
Can you supply OEM replacement agricultural gearboxes for major brands?
Yes. Ever Power manufactures direct interchange and aftermarket replacement gearboxes compatible with major OEM brands including Bush Hog, Land Pride, Woods, Rhino, Befco, Kuhn, Krone, Maschio, John Deere, and New Holland. We can cross-reference your part number and supply a compatible unit with the same mounting dimensions and performance specifications. Please email your part number or gearbox measurements to [email protected] for a cross-reference confirmation.
What PTO speeds are your agricultural gearboxes designed for?
Our agricultural gearboxes are designed for both standard 540 RPM and 1000 RPM PTO speeds, as well as ground-driven applications for fertilizer spreaders and seeders. The correct PTO speed depends on your implement type: rotary cutters and tillers generally use 540 RPM, while disc mowers and high-precision implements typically use 1000 RPM. Custom speed ratios are available for OEM applications. Please specify your tractor PTO speed and required output speed when requesting a quotation.
What oil / lubricant should I use in an agricultural gearbox?
Most agricultural gearboxes use SAE 80W-90 GL-5 gear oil or the equivalent. Rotary cutter gearboxes and heavy-duty PTO gearboxes often specify SAE 85W-140 for higher operating temperatures. Some compact mower and spreader gearboxes use multi-purpose grease (NLGI #2) instead of oil. Always refer to the specific model’s specification sheet or fill plug markings. We ship our gearboxes either filled with the correct oil (standard) or dry (as requested) and clearly label the oil type and volume on each unit.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for agricultural gearboxes?
MOQ is 1 unit for standard catalog models — making us suitable for both repair shop replacement parts and large OEM volume orders. Volume pricing tiers begin at 10 units, with significant cost reductions at 50 and 100+ units. We also offer private label and OEM branding from 50 units.
