The tilt circuit volume is relatively small, but debris from a failed seal can travel to the tilt control valve and cause spool sticking \u2014 a fault that presents identically to a faulty cylinder and is therefore frequently misdiagnosed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0;\"><strong>Post-installation soak test:<\/strong> After completing the installation and initial break-in cycle, lower the load to the floor and hold rated system pressure on the tilt-forward side of the cylinder for five minutes while observing the external rod surface for any signs of seepage. A trace of oil visible as a sheen \u2014 but not as a drip \u2014 is acceptable during the first 50 hours as new seals seat and the chrome rod develops a thin oil film on its surface.
