Why Edible Oil & Condiment Producers Choose the HGA Handle Bottle Blow Molding Machine

Cooking oil and condiment containers have a specific set of demands that standard PET lines don’t always handle well: integrated handles, large fill volumes from 1.5 L to 20 L, and the need to run different bottle formats — front-handle, rear-handle, and handleless — on the same footprint. The HGA series was engineered specifically for this market.

Seven models cover the full range. The compact ES-2C130 starts at 1,500 ml bottles for standard cooking oil retail formats. The large-format JS-2C366 scales up to 22,000 ml containers — bulk edible oil for catering, industrial food processing, and wholesale. In between, the FS-2C200 (5L) and CB152 address the 3,000–5,000 ml segment that accounts for the highest volume in the edible oil retail channel globally.

The key engineering decision in this series is the centralized heating + distributed blowing design. Preforms are heated in a single high-efficiency infrared zone, then spaced out to the correct pitch before entering the blow station. This matters for handle bottles: the preform pitch during heating is tighter than the mold pitch at the blow station, so the heating zone runs fewer lamps at higher efficiency rather than running oversized lamps at partial load. The energy savings are real — heating power on the ES-2C200 is 85 kW max but typical running power is 35 kW, a 59% reduction against nameplate.

Bottle Types This Handle Bottle Blow Molding Machine Can Produce

🫙 Front-Handle Bottles

Standard edible oil jugs with the handle moulded at the front shoulder. Common in 1.5 L–5 L retail SKUs for supermarket shelves. Max container diameter up to 180 mm.

🫙 Rear-Handle Bottles

Handle positioned at the back of the container — preferred in certain European and South American markets for easier pouring ergonomics. Same mold mounting interface, switchable on the same machine.

🛢️ Large-Volume Oil Bottles (5 L – 20 L)

The FS-2C200 (5L) and JS-2C366 models are built for bulk-format containers. The JS-2C366 handles up to 22,000 ml — suitable for catering-grade oil drums and industrial food-processing supply.

🧴 Condiment & Sauce Bottles

Soy sauce, vinegar, cooking wine, and similar products share the same neck and fill requirements as edible oil. The 1,500–3,000 ml ES and CB models serve this segment without mold changes beyond the bottle form itself.

The Centralized Heating + Distributed Blowing System: Why It Matters for Large-Volume Oil Bottle Production

When you’re running 5 L or 10 L oil jugs, the preform is much larger than a standard water bottle preform. A conventional heating-zone design would need to run oversized lamps at partial load — which wastes power and creates uneven heating across the preform wall.

The JS and FS models in this series use a separated architecture: preforms enter a centralized heating station with up to 128 holders running at optimal density. Once heated, a pitch-change mechanism redistributes them to match the blow mold spacing before they enter the blow station. The heating zone always runs at high efficiency regardless of the blow cavity pitch.

Energy: JS-2CB152 in real use

Max heating rating is 48 kW. Typical running draw is 12 kW — 75% below nameplate. That gap is the centralized heating design working as intended.

Wall consistency on handle bottles

Handle zones require tighter temperature control — too cool and the handle pocket doesn’t form cleanly; too hot and the material thins out. Independent lamp-group control addresses this directly.

Frequently Asked Questions — HGA Edible Oil Bottle Blow Molding Machine

Q1: Can the same machine produce both front-handle and rear-handle oil bottles?
Yes — by swapping the mold set. Both handle configurations use the same mounting interface and the same preform format. Changeover requires two operators and typically takes 60–90 minutes. PLC stores a separate recipe per bottle type, so no re-tuning from scratch after the physical swap.
Q2: What materials can the HGA handle bottle machines process — PET only, or also HDPE and PP?
The ES-series models are optimized for PET and use stretch-blow stations designed around PET’s stretch ratios. The JS large-volume models can also run HDPE preforms for oil containers requiring a thicker, more opaque wall — HDPE is common in 10 L and 20 L catering format containers. Confirm material spec when ordering: screw geometry differs between resin types.
Q3: How much floor space does a 5 L edible oil bottle machine need, and what utilities are required?
The ES-2C200 occupies 4,300×2,100 mm footprint (plus ~1 m service clearance on each side). Utilities: 85 kW peak electrical supply, 6,000 ltr/min high-pressure air at 30 kg/cm², and 91.4 ltr/min cooling water at 5–6 kg/cm², 8–10 °C. A chiller rather than open-loop water is recommended to avoid scale in cooling channels.
Q4: What is the energy cost difference between the centralized-heating JS models and the standard ES models for 5 L production?
At 5 L, the ES-2C200 runs at 35 kW typical heating draw. The JS-2C200, using centralized heating with 128 preform holders, runs at 26 kW typical for a comparable output rate. At 16 operating hours and $0.12/kWh, that’s roughly $17/day savings — around $4,000/year per machine, which matters on multi-line operations.
Q5: Does the 20 L machine require a special foundation, and is on-site installation included?
The J-2C366 weighs 7,000 kg and stands 3,040 mm tall. A reinforced concrete floor rated for ≥5 tonnes/m² is sufficient — no special pit or elevated mounting is required. On-site installation and commissioning by our engineers is available and recommended; lead time from order to commissioned production is typically 50–65 days.
